Testing Requirements
Applicants must complete an application to verify that the candidate meets the requirements. Upon your application being accepted you will be required to take and pass a multiple choices test and score 80%. If you fail the test, you may retake the test in 10 days. An additional test fee will be required.

Testing Fee (Include first year of certification): $150.00

Experience Requirements
10 years’ experience involved in school safety & security. Must have served or be currently serving in a school safety & security role as a staff member or NGO consultant with a private company or organization. This can include any school staff member who serves in school safety & security role.
Option 1
10 years in a school safety & security role as a school staff member or consultant with an NGO private organization.
Option 2
5 years in a school safety & security role as a school staff member or consultant with an NGO private organization. Experience should include working with emergency operations plans and safety & security assessments and 5 years employed with a local, state of federal law enforcement agency or as a an armed school security guard.
Other Licenses & Certifications must include one of the following:
ALERRT SORD certification, ALERRT Level 1 certification, TCOLE 3295 Reality Based Training/Shoot House, Current Texas DPS School Safety Program certification, Current Texas School Guardian Program certification.
DHS & FEMA training requirements
Class courses sometimes have an alpha designator attached to classes, these represent newer versions, any version is acceptable, eg. a,b,c Must include training from Associate Professional requirements below.
