BASSS was founded by Jeff Sellers of Schools On Target. Jeff has been in the school safety & security business since 2005.
Prior to BASSS association, there has never been an association dedicated to school safety & security professionals. Our association is strictly for schools located in the United States and includes K-12 public, charter and private schools, junior colleges, universities and colleges. Our professional ratings show the industry that you have a specific standard of training and experience in the school safety & security industry.
All candidates must have served or be currently serving in a school safety or security roll and meet the requirements below. This includes a staff position with a school or a private NGO who provides safety, security or consulting and/or services for schools.
Our certifications are not based on higher education degrees or levels yet, actual specialized industry experience and specialized industry training.
